Dozens of Sweetheart® conical cups are hand-printed with tiny letters that spiral towards the inside point of the forms. The paper cups, normally used for Italian ices, directly relate to taste and touch. The words play upon this usage by extracting references of the tongue and sensations of taste from a vintage textbook on anatomy. These are printed alongside more commonplace sayings related to food and sensation. The word ‘digest’ also denotes a summary of a text, as well as a means of gaining knowledge, both terms invoked through the pieces. Viewers must pick up and turn the funneled forms to read the spiralling words, equating the act of reading to eating.
